Hi guys . I'm new to the forum . And I was wondering is it a cardinal sin to make your own POS? The company we use are great but sometimes forget things so I accomodate. Is it better to have your own handmade (very tasteful of course) or is it better to have none at all.

Welcome to the forum. I would say that it is a cardinal sin i'm afraid. Purely because of the way I was trained. I contemplated doing exactly the same but was advised against it. As no matter how well you do it, it will never exactly match the current pos which you do have. Alot of smaller stores do this, and do it badly. It just ends up looking tacky and cheap.

I would have to agree wit emmab i'm afraid. I made the mistake of actually making it myself as I thought it would be better to have something at least. Only to get a rollocking of the district mananager!!

Most independent stores cannot afford to have POS printed for them, it becomes too expensive. This is where being part of a symbol group helps, as you can usually get POS from them.

Smaller stores should be fine making the POS themselves, or asking a competant relative/friend to do it for them.

If anyone would like some POS making, give me a shout, as I've been making for years...

Do you specialise in this area? I might have to take you up on your offer.

I wouldn't say I specialised, but have been doing it for a while, and think I do a pretty good job! I might make a business idea out of it at some stage!
