Hi, I was wondering as a new comer to car leasing does anyone know how much hassle it is. I also didn't know that car leasing was available for the "man in the street".....looks a good idea to me. Saves me loosing so much money like I did with my last new car...has anyone been running a private/ personal lease car for a while and could tell me if it's working out for them?

If you are registered for VAT, then leasing is excellent
If you are not registered for VAT, then leasing is not that attractive and contract hire or hire purchase would be better, or more ironically using other finance to purchase (as it will be cheaper in the long-term)

I am a high mileage driver and purchase "nearly new" cars every three to four years
At the end of that time, they have little value so trade them in for whatever they are prepared to offer really!
When purchasing the car I include a three year unlimited mileage warranty extension or plan from the dealership
It is expensive, but with high mileage this usually pays for itself well before the policy has expired
My current Vauxhall policy also covers servicing, brake pads and discs, so all I need to pay for is insurance, fuel, tyres, and exhaust

My previous car was a Ford Mondeo, and it worked out cheaper to take out a bank loan and finance the car that way
All my other cars, including my current one, have been on HP
Always look at the bottom line "total to pay" and then compare against a bank loan
If the dealership cannot at least match it, then walk away

Hi,
Contract hire is the best way to manage cash flow and you get a brand new car each time the contract expires or buy the car if you want to. There are lots of different ways to do it so best to speak to a broker - try http://www.frontierleasing.co.uk/ for good advice and plain speaking.
Hope this will help you. Good luck!
