Epson TM 88
There is currently one on eBay UK
They retail new for £300 to £350 depending on if it is the serial/parallel or USB version
I have also managed to source them at DABS for £250
If you are able to exchange for a different model, then you could cut your cost to about £150
However, you might want to look at purchasing one and then sending your failed one for repair, and to then keep it for spare

That dabs one sounds like a winner, thanks for your incredibly fast response :)

What exactly is wrong with the failed one?
A typical repair would be between £50 and £80, plus postage
Try here (http://support.kent-it.eu/epos/epson-tm-t88-receipt-printer-repair.htm)
I have similar problem with Canon ip90 and these cost £250 new
The solution is to send them to a small specialist company that strips, cleans, and reassembles them for £50, with a turnaround time of just 3 days
We use lazerjet at work . I havent had any problems with those so far.

I assume you're talking about your back office Max? Either that or you don't print a lot of receipts! ;-)
Just Googled, and Insight do them for £270. Not as cheap as Dabs though.

But the toner and paper is expensive.
m8 it just stopped printing, the light flashes a few times but thats it... i rang up mi-store (our epos provider) and they've told me to send it back & they'll repair it under warranty - which is great but I just purchased a new 1!!!!
argh!
So I now have 2 receipt printers and only 1 till.

Well under the distance selling Act, couldn't you just return the new one if it's not been used?
If that's not an option, stick it on EBay, there is a section for EPOS kit.

I just realised I had my consumer head on this morning - B2B transactions aren't actually covered by said Act. ;)

The Distance Selling Regulations would only apply during the cooling off period anyway, and it's only 15 days
Even though it is a B2B transaction, the purchaser is still a retail customer, so it should still apply
I have used it when purchasing, even though you could classify the sale as B2B

okay I can honestly say this is complete advertising, but if you need any(and I mean around 98% of all retail product and consumables) there is only 1 vendor to go to. As for an epson receipt printer £226 or a compatible clone for under £180.
everything isnt listed on the site but at over 450,000 product parts it takes time for perfection.
