RMS invoicing

Hi I have purchased Microsoft RMS software, like it very good to use, I’m wondering if someone could possible offer some help.



1st is there any way of changing on the sales receipts header, from Sales Receipt to Invoice, just some of my account customers need invoice’s instead of a sales receipt.



2nd can I change the number of characters a serial number field can hold, at the moment it can only hold 20 characters, some of my serial are longer than 20 characters.

I don't use Microsoft RMS so I can't really offer any help. Mircosoft have a good knowledgebase and community for RMS, which you can find here: http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/rms/community.mspx

RMS can print invoices and receipts
I believe you need to go into Customer Account and then create invoice

I found this on the forum
If you are looking for a receipt that reads "Invoice" instead of Sales
Receipt this can be found on Customer Source. Dually, if you open to edit,
you can just change the name from Sales Receipt to "Invoice" - but only
install as Sales receipt on your receipt formats because if you install on
the others WorkOrder will also read Invoice, etc.

The serial number can be anything you like
Editable from the Serial Number List option

The character field is set and cannot be modified
I suggest you drop the first 10 characters?

Hi and thanks for your replys, I forgot to mention, my RMS is version 2, I think it makes a difference on the invoices / receipts, I've looked in customer accounts and creating an invoice can't see anything, any help is welcome

I've not had any experience with RMS, keep meaning to have a look but my workload is permitting it right now.

There are so many POS applications out there its difficult to choose the right one for your needs.
