Good afternoon everyone,
I would like to introduce myself and our business concept to you. The Movie Booth are distributors of fully automated DVD rental kiosks which enable retailers to offer a full DVD rental service from a machine which is less than the size of a single Coca-Cola frdige.
We are extremely excited about our product and the benefits it can offer to retailers, and I look forward to speaking with other members of the forum to maximise the potential of our business service, and hopefully meet and assist other forum members along the way.
Thanks for now.
Mitchell

How can you guarantee that the items for rent get returned ?

I went to the locations, but couldn't find any that are "live"
However, there is a similar company already supplying similar units to railway stations at National Express East Anglia

The have the customers Credit Card / Debit Card details, so they will also have the customers name and address
Failure to return the item will no doubt result in a one-off non-return fee
Assuming the Credit Card / Debit Card is actually valid and not expired
From the FAQ :
What happens if I lose the movie?
If you are unfortunate enough to lose a movie, a standard charge is made to the card which is registered at the kiosk
What if I am unable to return a movie to the machine?
If you cannot return a movie to the machine, you should email [contact email address] with the title of the movie and the time at which you tried to return the film

Hi,
The system operates using credit/debit card recognition - a client must insert their card into the machine to rent a movie, and failure to return a movie results in a charge automatically being made to the relevant card. This means that there is none of the hassle of having to chase cash-paying clients when they fail to return a film.
m8internet - To ensure that people don't use invalid or expired cards, the system performs a card verification before the movie is dispensed to ensure that the card can be charged when the movie is returned (or not returned!).
Thanks,
Mitchell

Even though a card may be found to be valid and/or in date, that is not to say that is actually a valid card!
Equally, a card may expire shortly after the rental was due to be returned

Are you talking about card cloning etc. in this instance?
From our experiences we have found that these are very rare occurences.
