Is it just me or is it difficult to get a good security guard to come and work for your store or do some of you know something I don't? In the past year we have had six from the same company and they have all been extremely bad! Anyone know of a good security firm out there?

We went down the route of employing outside security staff... it just did not work.
They spent most of the time wandering around, talking to customers, chatting on their mobiles...
After all. they are not being paid by you, their employer who you pay a considerable amount of money to for their services pay them, and they don't get much out of that.....
Have you considered employing your own staff ?
They will be much more focused if pay a decent rate, they know your business, your customers and your needs.

Employing your own security staff is good, if you can provide the correct level of training etc...

The idea (at least, in theory) is that the larger security companies provide well-trained, efficient staff, sickness and holidays will be covered, and you have an account manager who deals with issues.

Of course, we know from experience that not to be the case...
