View Full Version : Finding good part time staff
With the credit crunch and general scaling back we've been told that our recruitment budget is very limited - so I thought I'd share some information that might be of interest to you as I recently had an email from a new job board called myparttimejob.co.uk offering the opportunity to post jobs for free. Given my lack of resources I thought the offer was probably too good to be true but so far I've had quite a few decent CVs - so if any of you are in the same boat and haven't yet been contacted it might be of interest.

Welcome to the board Mel.
How did you find out about that site? Do you know who runs it? Might be interested in talking to them.
Hi Richard
I found out about it through my friend who works in recruitment advertising - she'd been contacted with the 'free trial' offer and passed the info on to me. Not sure who runs it but the person who I've been speaking to - who was very helpful - is Jonquil Coy - 020 7242 6274.

A quick WHOIS and it looks like a private individual :

I am extremely cautious now about subscribing to such websites after Reed Recruitment may have sold the email address I submitted
I know it was them as it was unique to them
When I subscribe I use a unique email address, and this makes it much easier to trace and report the spam!

Surely a high-profile company such as Reed would have a decent privacy policy in place?

That sounds like a good idea - bit time-consuming though if you subscribe to a lot of sites!
For the record (albeit off-topic), Retail Forum DOES NOT share your email address (or any details for that matter) with any other companies or individuals.

Have you advertised with them? It seems to link to quite a few of the 'big' retailers.

Not really as you need to type in the email address
I have an ISP account that allows generic email addresses, I also used it to subscribe here
I have caught a few companies out by this method
british-gas@isp.com
I used this for an offer they had, not interested in newsletters, updates, blah, blah
A few months later I started getting other stuff
When I contacted the company sending out the spam, a well known company, they confirmed that they had had my email address supplied from Centrica, a British Gas company
Since I reported it and received an apology from British Gas, I've not received any emails to that address
Equally, I can setup that ISP webmail so that any emails to that email address just get spam trapped
Hi
Yes I have advertised on myparttimejob and got a good response.
Have you had much luck then
