This week to the French, their own world land speed record for conventional trains when one of their TGVs reached 357.2mph. Incredibly, that's more than twice the take-off speed of a passenger jet. Not the kind of pace at which you'd want to tackle the walk back from the buffet carrying an armful of Maxpax coffees.

That would be fantastic ! If I could travel on one of those everyday I might actually get into work on time. :D
