As well as The Apprentice, the F1 season starts next weekend.
I didn't know they were planning a new scoring system but it's been delayed in any case:

Suggestions for how F1 should be scored? Have we even got any race fans on here?
They should keep it the way it was !!!!

The teams and drivers received plenty of notice about the change, and in principle they had alerady agreed to it
However, they soon worked out that a driver with after just 4 wins would in effect win the championship and that would end the season, no matter how long was left
Forget all that what about Naughty Lewis Hamilton aye???? Thats taken the limelight now for sure! I can't believe that happened! What an idiot!

Suggestions for how F1 should be scored?
I'm probably an extreme F1 fan, although I would watch other motorsport if it had better coverage, and have watched every qualifying and race live for many years now
There is nothing like getting up for the Asia-Pacific GPs and having cooked breakfast while watching the GP
I sent a proposal in to the FIA, given they are looking to be more environmentally friendly
Award 1 point to the team(s) that goes the highest number of laps without the need for refuelling during the race, after the start
Award 1 point to the team(s) that goes the highest number of laps without the need for refuelling during the race, before the finish
In effect there are 4 points available
So lets say, for a race with 38 laps :
Mclaren decide to two stop, refuelling on lap 12 and 27
Force India decide to one stop, refuelling on lap 22
Braun GP decide to one stop, refuelling on lap 21
McLaren win the race, and get those points
Force India get 1 point for going to lap 22
Braun GP get 1 point for going the most laps before the end of the race (laps 22 to finish)
This then closes the gap between the "never or not got a chance" teams and those that win most of the races, and brings the conclusion of the titles more towards the end of the season
I have a similar proposal for tyres, but this is more complicated, and since there are no penalties (like there are for engines and gearboxes now) this could quite easily be included
Motor Sport has ALWAYS been about points for places, anything else is just pointless!
