View Full Version : Swine Flu - Are retail jobs at the airport more at risk?
I have just returned from a holiday in Lanzarote and saw loads of people wearing those masks on their faces at the airport due to the swine flu (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8030859.stm) break out. Only certain incoming flights had people with those masks though.
What I am wondering is do you think that people who work in airport retail jobs are at risk more than others as many people from all over travel through these places each day.... Is it safe right now?
:(

I still remain sceptical about this
As per usual the media get hold of this and spread GLOBAL panic
What really got me from the beginning was the BBC presenter in Mexico
Standing IN the hospital without a mask, kind of summed it up really!

Really? Wow I must have missed that one or just not paid enough attantion to it etc...
There are daily reports of preople dying etc everytime I turn on the tv - it just makes you wonder and if the media are blowing all of this up then that adds to the panic as well!
Plus these leaflets (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Swineflu/DG_177831) we all got about swine flu! I mean whats that all about?

Since the outbreak, more people have died from normal viral flu rather than Swine Flu
The difference is normal viral flu is seasonal
However, both are a serious threat (probably equally) to any person that is young, unfit, living in unhealthy conditions, etc
It's a credit to this country (cough, cough), that all those that have been infected (so far) have made a full recovery, including some children now
The WHO have also advised that by the end of this year that one third of the worlds population will have had the disease
Have more people really died from normal flu than swine flu? They dont cover that in thier stories do they????
One third would have had it but not died from it I assume? LOL!

Man flu is a pejorative term that refers to the idea that when many men have a cold, they exaggerate and claim they have the flu..... This is what they have

I do reckon we have been faced with major challenge of Swine Flu. No doubt there would be slow down in retail, but in long term there will be more growth.
If you are very serious, I suggest you to talk to some retail consultants (http://www.retail-remedy.com) and then take a decision.
MAy I ask how a retail consultant will help with swine flu ;) lol
