Retail Business Consultants Ltd. is a UK company run by former Merrill Lynch marketing director Roxanne Parker and sales & marketing analyst Ralph Price.
We help retail and wholesale businesses to launch or expand by importing high quality, low cost products direct from manufacturers in India.

This centres round a 10 day workshop based in Delhi. You will spend two days at the International Fair and a further eight days in Delhi, Jaipur and Firozabad escorted and guided by ourselves, to ensure that you maximise the learning and buying opportunities available.

You should be clear at the outset that this Workshop is definitely not a ‘to do list’ for entrepreneurs, it is a real hands on experience that takes in every aspect of setting up and running a business. Therefore it is important that you only attend if you are serious about building your own retail or wholesale business importing from India. During the trip, you will be buying all the stock that you need to successfully launch your business, but there are also many other benefits.

• Buy at low cost, directly from manufacturers in India
• Trade with realistic 300% - 800% sales mark-ups
• Personal introductions to trusted suppliers and buying agents
• Benefit from low cost freight forwarding from India to the UK
• Develop expertise as an importer and product buyer
• Witness the manufacturing process first hand
• Expand your retail and wholesale operations with a custom built website
• Return from India knowing all your stock will arrive safely on your doorstep in just a few months
• Build a solid customer database with our marketing expertise

The next workshop will begin on 6th October 2009.

Day 2 8th Oct. Tour of manufacturers in Delhi and a visit to the Delhi Haat market.

Day 4 10th Oct. 200km Train and road trip to Firozabad, the specialist home of handmade glassware in India, and a visit to the Taj Mahal

Day 8 14th Oct. Site visit to jewellery and textile manufacturers in Jaipur. City tour option.

Day 9 15th Oct. Site visit to wooden furniture manufacturers before either returning to Delhi for flight home the next day, or last night in Jaipur before commencing optional travel itinerary.

Day 10 16th Oct. Delhi finalising agents and freight arrangements & sightseeing. Return flight to the UK.

The business was founded following our experiences launching Cinnamon Furnishings that now retails and wholesales over 25,000 products from the Algarve. We found that there was little practical advice or training available and existing importers were understandably protective of their business knowledge.

This new, ten day seminar from Retail Business Consultants is the first of its type in the world. We have created a package that will provide everything you need to source products from trusted quality suppliers in India, import them economically and operate a profitable wholesale and retail outlet.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like an interesting concept, but how much would this cost per delegate, out of interest?

The ten day trip and the training provided costs £8,270. It sounds like a lot but considering what you willl save on purchasing products and the security it provides we are confident that it is good value. We provide free consultancy until your business is up and running and we build a website and will make sure that you know how to find customers online and don't waste money, which is easy to do online.

Cutting out the wholesalers here in the UK obviously gives you much better margins. Import costs are low if all the paper work is in order. Once you are up and running and realise that you are shipping a 20ft container from India for less than £1,000 you will have a much more robust and recession proof business.

There are many pitfalls in the import business that can prove expensive. We made mistakes with our imports in the early days and clients have had similar experiences. As far as we know, this is the only training course of its kind.

We have an free information pack and Cd available from the website if you would like any more information.

Kind Regards

Ralph
