Ok so its not a product of my own but I thought I would tell you about it anyway!

Im a big lover of anything ethical and organic and came across this site the other day which looks good for basic t-shirts and hoodies.

A bit of background on them - they are called Swiss and Swallow (http://www.swissandswallow.com/) and make 100% organic cotton clothing! Everything from the labels to the fabric used to make these is organic - there is no compromise whatsoever! The cotton has not even been treated to chemicals at any stages of its life! This is Fair Trade and Organic at its best!

Unlike most Organic garments this range isn't aimed at hippies either - They have a cool surfer vibe, but are basic t's and hoodies that anyone would look good in to be honest!

They like to produce good that are planet friendly and guilt free! Great isn;t it?

Now all we need them to do is to branch out into stores and create some retail jobs haha!

I know its a good idea isn't it? Shame I didnt think of it first haha!

I have ordered a couple of t-shirts to see what they are like for my boyfriend and I! Thought I would test them out and see if thay are good?

I like the idea of what they do so now I guess I just need t put it into practise and check it all out!

Thats great - I'm a fan of ethical goods to!

However alot of the time these types of things are so expensive to buy - I think this is why alot of people are deterred - don't you think?

I'm definitely going to have a look at this range - there a great idea for presents too!

I think yes possibly price is a deterant but I would rather try to have a few good quality organic, ethically sourced items than to have a cupboard full of crap you know?

I like to think in some small way I am giving something back!

Unfortunately not everyone thinks like that - most shoppers don’t really look at the reasoning behind the price - they just see expensive as expensive and cheap as cheap - however they don't look at the factors as to why items are cheap - such as slave labour!!

Yes I do see where you are coming from but I dont think this clothing is overly expensive! Perhaps mid-range wouldnt you say? I mean £20 a t-shirt is fairly average on the high st these days wouldnt you say?

For a plain Tee not really its around double average especially if its not an established brand.

For £20 I'd want a half-decent tee - I'd usually spend around £10/£13 in Burton etc... I'll have to have a look though (or rather my better half - she dresses me ;) )

For thw better quality ones that I purchase I do spend an average of £15-£25 so this is ok for me!

The basics that I don't expect to have the lasting power come from places like Primark and cost less than £5! But they rarely last more than a few washes without bobbling you know?

Having a look at the website they have a really good range! I must be honest I will not spend £20 on a t-shirt. But one day when my retail job makes me rich (hahaha...) I would buy from them. I am sure the quality it just unquestionable!

I wish organic & ethical items (whether it is clothing or just food from the supermarket) were cheaper. I think the world would support it more if it was affordable :) Don't you agree?
I think everyone is for the cause but it is not in everyone's price range :(

Burton don't aim for shoppers that will spend loads - thats not there target market ;) I worked in headoffice ... moohaha!!

I couldnt agree more girls! Even to buy some food in the supermarkets the organic/free range stuff is always miore expensive! You'd think stuff that is good for us and the environment would be cheaper in order to make it more widely purchased!

There's a programme about this tonight on (I think) BBC2 - the Money Programme - at 10pm. Maybe worth watching?
