Geek La Chic frames are everywhere at the moment.
Every face book I go on - a friend has a photograph wearing some.
Themed nights at clubs are even following the obsession, even when you open a newspaper someone has a pair on.
I think this trend is great! I'm quite a fan of the geeky eccentric look and think a good pair of nerdy glasses look hot !
But what’s every ones thought on whether these actually make you look more intelligent?
I saw an article on the Evening Standard (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/fashion/article-23724417-details/The+return+of+geek+chic/article.do)
where it said "there a cool young accessory for people who want to look brainier”...so my thoughts are do you think these might increase the chances of people getting a job haha!!
I'm willing to under- go anything to step up the chances of getting a job (http://www.careers-jobs.eu/) ... So nerdville here I come!!
I personally think that they are more of a fashion accessory than something that will increase the chances of you getting a job!
I mean where I work the minority wear specs! Glasses may make you look more intelligent but do not really give you an extra chance of getting a job!
I had a pair of nerdy glasses when I was 17 or 18! I am very short sighted though! I used to love them! I thought they went with the whole 'college' look you know?
It is definately a good look though - I love it! Get a pair it what I say!

haha - Yea I don't think they will aid in someone getting a job either, it made me laugh when i read in the article that the glasses made you look brainier. Well for some maybe.. but I don't think they do at all!
Haha they are very stereotypical in my opinion. Do you know of any real geeks who wear them? All the geeks I know have quite slim glasses :p

I'm not sure if I'd swop my semi-rimlessglasses for that. I remember wearing glasses similar to that a long time ago, and to be honest they werent that popular.
Looking good for interviews are important, but i think i'd stick to my own style first before following a fashion like that.

Exactly fashion is at the moment edging towards the "eccentric" look don't you think?
Yes and in some respects it gets a bit to wacky!
Im all for a bit off key and original but sometimes it does go beyond good taste doesnt it?

Yea definitely - I wasn't keen on the ripped tights look. I think that looks really trampy. People were walking around with huge holes in the nether the less!!?
Has any one been shopping in the sales yet?
No I haven't have you Abi?
I went to one shop this weekend and was shocked to find there was no SAle???? Very shocking I must say!

Apparently, that's youth fashion

lol it might well be "youth" fashion haha.
As for sales I tend to steer clear.
When I was in college I worked weekends in River Island and I remember clearing up all the mess after the Sales.
Do you think profits have increased for retailers in the summer sales?
I don't know but I hope so! Mind you saying that I went to town the othwer day and there didnt seem to be much left in any of the shops! It was all normal stock! Why do I remember sales lasting into august?
This summer is a bit miserable so far. We had a few good weeks in June/July and that must have brought people out of their homes but at the moment the weather almost puts me off going out on a shopping spree.. that and my bank balance lol!
I found that online shops seem to always have "special offers" or "offer of the week" but I am not so sure I have seen it in stores. Are shops having sales at this time (and not because they are shutting down) ??

lol I dont think it speaks for all the youth. Not everyone follows those trends.
As for me? Id rather not thanks. :D the thought of walking around with added ventilation seems a bit off putting. But its cool to see how many trends are making a comeback.
A lot of fashion from the 70's and the 80's even are comming back.
