View Full Version : Facebook have done a right job!
I read an interesting article today saying that Facebook have bought a content sharing service called Friend Feed - http://friendfeed.com/
Apparently this acquisition will now put them into competition with Google and Twitter as it operates a ‘real time’ search engine!
The great news with this is that there will be no jobs lost as all employees and the companies’ four founders will join Facebook!
All I can say is why can’t all acquisitions be like this? GO ON FACEBOOK!
P.S. Have any of you heard of friend feed? I am going to check it out now hehe!

I had facebook about 3 years, but to be honest after a while it tends to get a little ug.
I mean the way i saw it then was I have messengers i can use, meaning i can talk to them like i would on a normal day.
Why should I use an application like facebook when an instant messenger works faster. so facebook was over for me.
But with its popularity and the new developments, Im glad they kept the old staff.
So many other companies would have replaced them with new or their own staff.
It will be interesting to hear if Friend feed does well or not. With the name 'facebook' attached to it I am sure a few people will have a look! Though saying it will compete with Google seems a tad ambitious if you ask me haha!
I never though Twitter would ever really hit it off. I thought that application was a bit pointless but I was proved wrong.
I have never heard of it. Do you know if it is in its early stages of developments? Or has it been around for ages?

I had a look at it, and it looks the same as a facebook page, with a few small differences. Id think it was new, or our facebook pages might have had adverts for it.
lol yea.... not my cup of noodles either :D
Im like you guys - I think the only way it differs from facebook is this real time search thing? It didnt appeal to me when I went to have a look either - much prefer facebook! But as Emily-O says it is attached to facebook and who hasn't heard of that? even my mum is on there haha!
I think they will work on it though - not sure if they will incorporate it into facebook or launch it as a seperate product????!!!!!
I saw somewhere the other day that 16 jobs have moved to face book! Quite a tidy lil number isn't it?????
