View Full Version : Gervais gets the job to hosts the Globes!
I read today that Ricky Gervais (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8327315.stm) is set to host the Golden Globes this year!
I was quite surprised as they have not had a single host in a few years but rather a string of hosts presenting different awards so this is good news! The whole show to himself! He has also been given free reign for hosting the show which is why he agreed to it!
A brit hosting the whole show to himself? The job of all jobs hey? I can’t wait to see it he is ever so funny! It has to be a laugh for sure!
Well that is good news. I might actually watch the globes this year then. :)
I don't usually find them very interesting and avoid it as far as I can.

If they usually watch it perhaps it is to see who wins rather than who presents it?
God knows we will only find out afterwards I guess? See all the reviews and viewer figures etc and see if he did a good enough job with it all!?
Im guessing it ill be ok and perhaps better as it will definately attract more american viewers?

Haha me too - I love strictly come dancing or whatever its called on the bbc as I love to see what they all end up wearing etc hehe!

I know! I love watching and thinking thats nice - thats nice etc etc!
Id love an occasion or job opportunity where I could wear things that are half as fancy as those you know?
Thats why I love weddings and christenings etc.... I get to wear a pretty dress hehe! At the moment I have a cupboard full that I have not worn as yet! But I loves them anyway hehe!
I think I would be good at working in a shop that sold or made these kinds of dresses as well haha! Yes maybe one day thats what I could do when and if I have enough monies heheheh!
I also have some things that I love, but just have no opportunity to wear. Doesn't seem to be to many weddings and christenings coming around either.
If I had to work in a place like that I would probably end up spending my money on buying all the pretty things. Which I would never wear, because there just is not opportunity to wear them. It's so sad.

Floor length dress? Then you can wear leggings underneath on the sly hehe! :D

Precisely hehe! I have a fair few myself and am waiting to wear one of them as its gorgeous - the rest have all been out and about already lol!
Well I have checked and fortunately I don't have floor length dress, so I'll be going out shopping for one.
Although seeing as the wedding is so far away yet, I will definitely be needing a new one for it. I have to remember to thank him for such good excuses to go shopping.

Haha thats not unfortunate its great lol! Shopping and trying on all those dresses! Aaaah I would love a job as a personal shopper haha!
Most defnitely. I might however get a little distracted, lose track of time and forget who I'm supposed to be shopping for.
Which would probably get me fired. That would be a very short career as a personal shopper then. :p

I can still imagine myself working somewhere like Harrods and telling people what do buy haha! I like dressing people anyway and imagine having all that fab stuff at your disposal! :)
