Ok so after the spider thread and me spending the best part of the last few months not going into my back garden I thought Id ask - what freaks you out/scraes you the most? Oh and you have to say why :)

I absolutely hate worms. All worms.

It's just the way they move that totally freaks me out. I'll start crying if someone brings one near me and of course my brother finds it hilarious to chase me with one.

I run screaming through the house and lock myself in the bathroom. :o

Does that include snakes or just worms?

I am scared of the sea. I get all tight in the chest and panic and can just about manage it nearly up to my shoulders, it's just so vast, and there is nothing to hold on to

Poppy

Getting to your shoulders is so much better than me. I go up to my ankles and stop because I start imaginging all sorts of things underwater that want to get me. :D

Ok well Im in between - I can do just past my waist! I need to feel my feet firmly in the ground in order to be ok and not panic!

I remember once there was a dip on the ocean bed and it went higher and I panicked properly - it was so funny! My other half had to push me forward so I could feel my tooties on bthe ground again hehe!

I think there might be something wrong with our cat. He doesn't scare anything away, not even birds. He is such a lazy thing. :)

The dark, thats my worst fear of all :(

Poppy
18-11-2009, 11:37
Not to fond it it myself. If I have to move around the house and there are not lights on, I will run as fast as possible with my hand stretched ahead for the switch.

Even though I know full well that there is nothing around. Well, it seems I'm quite the baby. :o

That is exactually like me ill look down at the the floor till im in reach of a light switch. Least im not the only one :D

Poppy

I know, it is a relief.

I have not yet figured out why I imagine that running at a light switch would keep me safe if there was anything there anyway. :p

SallyA
19-11-2009, 11:15
haha thats true! What difference would the light make except you would be able to see whatever it is you fear very much more clesrly hahaha!

As for cats! I have one that goes after anything that moves, mice, birds, spiders, moths, frogs... You name it he will eat it!

Suppose it is better to know exactly what it is you dealing with. :)

Our dog has always been more of a cat, catching mice, birds and anything else that ventures into the back garden. I think the problem with the cat is that he was only 3 weeks old when we got him (his mom had been killed) so he was hand reared and then spent most of his time with the dog. He now thinks he is a dog.

Its funny how cats can be like that dont you think?

One of mine thinks he is Human as he was an indoor cat until he was 1.5 yrs old! He hates other cats with the exception of the other 3 in our household, which he has gotten used to over time! Hehe!

Cats just think they are better than everything else, including us. They are only gracing us with their presence.

The only time our cat will come to you is when you call him for food, he knows exactly when that is. At other times he'll ignore you as though he can't hear you, even if he is in the same room. :)

Dark Phoenyx
24-11-2009, 12:30
LOL diablo does that. Especially when hes been outside guarding the territory. If hes in a bad mood, I get ignored. but that doesnt stop him from grabbing free scratches by rubbing against my foot when he feels like it.

I totally agree there Poppy although our newest edition Simba, he is one weird cat!

He wont let you pick him up and generally does his own thing but when you give attention to one of the others he comes running over and pushes them out the way and then starts purring for attention! Jealous boy! Haha!

Poppy
25-11-2009, 10:29
Our other cat was like that, she hated being picked up or stroked. Somewhere along the line she got over it though and now if she sees you sitting she is on your lap, making herself comfortable and sleeping.

Strange little things these cats.

Our cats have yet to try and attack the tree, they seem to prefer laying about on the beds or on any clothes that might have been left out sleeping.

You just never know where you going to find one of them. It gives me quite a fright sometimes when they pop out from unexpected places.

One of mine Prince loves the smell of clean washing and always bundles up in it if you dont put it away straight away! And now he has taken it a step futher, he knows how to open the door on my house mates wardrobe and just gets in and bundles himself up all cosy and such! She craps her pants everytime she opens the door as she never expects him haha!

I can just imagine, as I would do the same. Problem is you just never know when to expect them. It's not like they have a routine which they follow.

The oldest of our cats has now gotten into the habit of running just in front of you and them laying down and stretching herself out in front of you. If you don't see her or have something in your hands and can't see her, you are almost guaranteed to land up on the floor.

Oh that has to be the best! Fall over cat day :D

Commitment. And flying insects.

Once I was in the state of Texas and I saw these birds flying around at night around this street light. I wondered what they were doing. Then my friend told me that they were, in fact, giant moths.

I've never run so fast in my life.

I would definitely have been running. I hate moths, even the tiniest little moth will freak me out completely.

Even more so after a woman that worked with me had one crawl into her ear. She had to get to the doctor to have it taken out, was going nuts with the noise from the moth in her ear and of course, she couldn't get it out herself.
