I read an article today that says WHSmith is feeling "cautious" after they have experienced a fall in sales compared to this time last year - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8356116.stm

They said that sales have dipped 2-4% in the last year!

Lets hope things pick up over the christmas period - What if they close down  Do you guys think it could get to that?

There is nothing like bad publicity to increase sales...

They'll be fine - not reported a bad 'full' year since Kate Swann took over at the helm - though they are not going to buy out Borders after ending discussions.

They've still got expansion plans, so wouldn't write them off yet.

Expansion plans sound good to me!

Any company that can expand and create jobs or at least have it in the pipeline is a good thing right now I think ;)
