Ok I know this isn't exactly a retail question , but seeing as I do work for a retailer, and I am a member of this FANTASTIC site !!!!!! Please could you help me? I can't get the sound to work ? My speakers are fine because I checked on my partners computer but I haven't got a clue what I should do next?

Providing your speakers definitely work and have been tested and the jack fits the PC...

Check if there is an ON/OFF switch on the back of one of the speakers... Has it been knocked to the OFF position... else...

[LIST]
Open your Control Panel
Open Sounds and Audio Devices
[LIST]
The first tab is likely to be 'Volume'
Below this there should be a 'Device Volume' slider - Check if it is on LOW. If it is, then slide it up towards high.
Immediately below the 'Device Volume' there is a MUTE tick box - Ensure that this is not ticked.
Don't forget to click OK once you have done this and test the speakers again.

Failing the above, selcect the AUDIO tab. At the bottom of this panel, there is a 'Use only default devices' tick box. If this is ticked, the system may not allow/recognise your speakers.

Failing this, right click on 'My Computer', select the Hardware tab and click the 'Device Manager' button. Within the list that appears, look for any device which has a YELLOW QUESTION MARK symbol next to it. If this is related to audio hardware you may need to reinstall drivers.
