Mohamed Fayed a very colorful character as we all know and owner of Harrods has now as stated in Telegraph.co.uk (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/7704017/Harrods-and-Mohamed-Fayed-are-in-a-class-of-their-own.html) sold Harrods to Qatar Holdings, aka the Qatari royal family.
Ill quote a little paragraph thereof: :D
"This is May, not January, but it is entirely in the spirit of the Harrods sale that Mr Fayed knocked the asking price down from £2 billion to £1.5 billion. And in case we get downcast that this fascinating retailer is to spend more time with his children and grandchildren, we should cheer up at the thought that the Qatari emir has no fewer than three wives – the second of whom, Sheika, looks promising from the Hello! point of view – and 27 children. If the new owners spend as much time on the London social circuit as Mr Fayed's spirited daughter, Camilla, I think we're in for fun."
Iv seen some footage on Harrods and it looks like an amazing establishment from what iv seen, maybe for the rich and famous mostly?? I wonder how many people are employed by Harrods these days..
Iv not heard any negative news reports on Harrods, looks like it was one of the few stores not hit with job (http://www.careersandjobsuk.com//) losses and recession madness, i might be wrong.
